Idinvest's German office is ever-present as direct lenders flock to Munich due to increase in German deal flows
German private debt is attracting a growing number of fund managers. Market sources say that deal flow through the first half of the year was at 65% of 2017's total and had surpassed the number of private debt deals executed by funds in each of the previous five years. "Germany offers a broad stream of SME companies with leading positions in the relevant markets," says Florian Zimmermann, investment director and head of the German office at Idinvest Partners. "These companies offer attractive opportunities for private equity investors. They can be further developed either organically or through acquisitions and therefore also offer attractive transactions to be financed with private debt."
